But it’s not enough to get more sleep, you should also try to get better sleep. Some things you can try for more restful sleep:
- Examine your pillow and mattress. If you’re tossing and turning all night because you can’t get comfortable, it might be time for an upgrade.
- Using cotton sheets can help curb sleep sweat.
- A cooler room may help you relax. The National Sleep Foundation recommends between 60-67 degrees F.
- Turn off the electronics and give your brain a chance to slow down. Try some light reading with a screen before bed.
Maintain A Healthy, Well-Balanced Diet
Eating more whole, unprocessed food will leave you feeling more energetic and ready to take on the day and help you sleep better at night. Some people even find it helps curb other unhealthy habits like stress-eating or impulse shopping.
Set Realistic Goals & Stick To Them
Holding yourself accountable can be hard, so we recommend enlisting a supportive friend. Set small daily and weekly goals to work towards your bigger goals. Focus on getting in the right mind frame. Small successes turn into big achievements.
